We all have stories, let's tell them.
Thu, 09/08/2022 - 10:30am

The stories we carry are magical. They are weird. They are heartbreaking and beautiful, unique and funny. Best of all they are ours– just waiting to be told. Your stories may be hiding under cobwebs in the attic, or they may be causing a ruckus in the middle of the kitchen. However big or small, boisterous or shy, our stories are all just waiting for time, space, a listening ear, and an invitation. Gatherings designed for writers and non-writers alike, 18 and older. Each evening is a drop-in, zero-pressure event:

  • Every 1st Wednesday, 5:30-7:30 p.m.
  • Sept. 14, Oct. 5, Nov. 2, Dec. 7.
  • $10/session, at the door.
  • Merry Barn, 417 River Road, Edgecomb

Kelsy Hartley will lead us in creative memoir prompts to explore new ways of telling our own unique stories. Through exaggeration, mixing of characters, and getting to the “heat” of the story, we’ll engage, excavate, and cultivate our story in its “true form.”

We’ll begin by sketching “memory snapshots,” and explore the themes and stories behind the pictures and memories. Each session we’ll follow a format of reading, writing and sharing, cultivating momentum in our body of work. Find us at www.merrybarn.com, or email info@merrybarn.com for more information.
