School supplies needed July 14
On Sunday, July 14, churches throughout the community will be collecting Back To School supplies and money donations during worship … all of which will be used for the Big Set For Success Event August 18 at the Boothbay Region YMCA where the region’s elementary students will be invited to receive their teacher required school supplies all in an effort to get them set for success as they return to school in September.
Volunteers will be stationed at the front door of the YMCA to receive the communities donations. Folks not associated with a church are welcome to bring back to school donations to the YMCA between noon and 1 p.m. Sunday.
A donation tote is also awaiting school supplies at The First bank on Oak Street, Boothbay Harbor during their hours of operation. A donation of $50 will buy a backpack and supplies for one child. Checks made payable to: Congregational Church – BRCR; Memo line: Set For Success.
Also needed: Backpacks, No. 2 pencils, ballpoint pens, glue sticks, Fiskar scissors, pencil boxes, 1.5-inch three-ring binders, 2-inch three-ring binders, Crayola crayons 8-pack, marbled composition notebooks 100 pages, watercolors with brush, quart size plastic storage bags and gallon size plastic storage bags.
