'White Rockets' at church service
Guest minister, the Reverend Al Boyce, will reflect on “White Rockets” at the Midcoast Unitarian Universalist Fellowship service on Sunday, March 2. His sermon will address the issue of apathy: a trait of being human that is challenged by individual spiritual journey.
Beginning as an Assemblies of God minister, Rev. Boyce came out as a gay man and then attended Harvard Divinity School. He entered fellowship in UU ministry in 1990. His theology began as Humanist/Deist and today holds to a more Christian UU position. He currently lives in Vassalboro, is completing a doctorate in psychology and works in the mental health field while frequently doing pulpit supply for UU, Congregational and Episcopal churches. He hopes to reenter full time parish work in the future.
The Reverend Erika Hewitt is on leave for four weeks, teaching workshops and preaching in West Coast churches. Rev. Mark Glovin, minister of the Rockland UU Church, is available for pastoral care at 207-701-7485.
The Fellowship welcomes everyone, whatever your spiritual journey is (or isn't) every Sunday at 10:30 a.m. in the Porter Auditorium of Skidompha Library in Damariscotta. Entrance is through the door on Elm Street. For more information, visit www.uumidcoast.org. Find us on Facebook at uumidcoast. To leave a message, call the Fellowship at 207-315-1628.
