Wright Landing floats pulled next month
Westport Island selectmen announced at their meeting Monday evening that all six floats at Wright Landing will be taken up October 14 by resident E. Davies Allan.
The selectmen had planned to leave two of the floats in year round, but have not received the permitting to do so. But the selectmen indicated they will pursue getting the permits needed to allow two of the floats to stay in the water for next year.
Currently the six floats are seasonal floats; the plan is to have two of them become permanent floats.
When working in or near the water a number of local, state and federal permits at needed. The town planning board has approved having the two permanent floats, the next step is obtaining the state and federal permits.

Other potential abatements and supplemental abatements were discussed.
