It only took local task force supporters a few days to meet the Mildred H. McEvoy Foundation’s $5,000 challenge grant.

Boothbay Town Manager Jim Chaousis announced the grant opportunity at the Tuesday, September 25 task force meeting. By Friday, September 28, Chaousis reported the challenge had been met. With this latest infusion of financial support, the task force’s coffers have swelled to just over $15,000.

“I am excited and proud to announce that the community responded eagerly. Since the announcement of the matching grant, the St. Andrews Project fund has received $7,609 in donations in one week. The Mildred H McEvoy Foundation has once again led a community with vigor to obtain great achievements,” Chaousis wrote in an email.
