A purple display in Wiscasset, and all others like it, often appear in prominent locations in Maine towns at different times of the year.
During October, purple displays are for National Domestic Violence Awareness Month; in November and/or December over the holidays; in January for National Stalking Awareness Month, in February to observe National Teen Dating Violence Awareness Month or in April for National Sexual Assault Awareness Month.
Display purple lights at your home or place of business as a reminder of the women, children, and some men, whose lives were taken from them due to an act of domestic violence.
