Holiday gift show and sampling events at Rising Tide
Looking for gifts by local artisans? Hoping to support your community while enjoying holiday merriment? Rising Tide Community Market’s third annual Holiday Gift Show, featuring work by eleven local artisans is underway.
A wide variety of giftable items will be on display in the Rising Tide café until Jan. 2, 2016 — from ornaments to earrings, holiday decorations to original artwork. New this year are wooden cutting boards by Tom Boothby, fabric bags by Laura Devin, jewelry by Heather Greene, and calendars and prints by Susan Bartlett Rice.
Want to snack on Maine-made foods while you shop? Next weekend a variety of local food sampling events will coincide with our holiday gift show. Including:
- Maine Pie Company of Biddeford: Gluten-free pies, Thursday, Dec. 10, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Tropical Maine of Jefferson: Maple syrup and passion fruit blended marinade, Thursday, Dec. 10, from 11 a.m. – 1:30 p.m.
- Cameron Clan of Manchester: All-natural non-GMO kettle corn, Friday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
- Thirty Acre Farm of Whitefield: Lacto-fermented vegetables, Friday, Dec. 11, from 11 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.
- Jyang-Lee Kitchens of Coopers Mills: Locally-made dumplings and stuffed wontons, Friday, Dec. 11, from 11 am – 1 p.m.
- Maine Crisp Company of Waterville: Handmade gluten-free crisps, Saturday, Dec. 12, from 9 – 11 a.m.
All events and samplings are free and open to the public. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the food, festivities, and fun!
Rising Tide holds monthly art exhibits featuring work by talented local artists who are also co-op member-owners. Artist applications for 2016 are being accepted; more information can be found at www.risingtide.coop/art-at-the-co-op.
