Bartender course begins February 7
Toast the New Year by learning a skill that could potentially put some extra cash in your pocket. Central Lincoln County Adult Education is offering a Become a Bartender course on Thursdays beginning February 7 through March 14 from 6-8 p.m.
Learn bartending basics in a fun bar and restaurant environment. You’ll learn about glassware, pouring, and types of drinks along with alcohol awareness and how to obtain TIPS training. TIPS, a skills-based program, trains servers, sellers, and consumers of alcohol how to prevent intoxication, drunk driving, and underage drinking and is offered free by the state of Maine for alcohol servers. Students will have hands-on experience and leave with the confidence needed behind the bar.
Instructor Dennis Herrick has 27 years experience in bar management and is a TIPS certified trainer. He has been teaching adults bartending for over 10 years and currently teaches at his home in Edgecomb. The cost of the course is $180.
