August ‘Summer Series’ programs at Popham Beach Library
Historic photos of Popham from the Eastern Illustrating Collection and the Captain James Perkins Collection will be the featured program on Thursday, Aug. 7 at 7 p.m. Kevin Johnson, Penobscot Marine Museum Photo Archivist, will share selected photos and local history.
The work of Maine“Cabin Masters”will be the topic at the Thursday, Aug. 21, 7 p.m., Popham program. Local resident Jane Burke will describe the recent renovation to her “Triangle House” at Sea Acres and local basketball legend Joe Harrington will talk about the brand new camp built on his Phippsburg lot, both done by the Maine Cabin Masters.
The July and August “Summer Series” is offered by the PBIA, Popham Beach Improvement Association in conjunction with the library. The Popham BeachLibrary is at 965 Popham Road and welcomes all residents, seasonal residents and visitors to stop by during regular hours to borrow new books and DVDs and have a cup of coffee.
The library is open on weekdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. during July and August, and Tuesdays and Thursdays from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in September. Every Saturday through Sept. 27 the library is open from 10 to 1. Look for the “OPEN” flag.
