Digital photography, navigating Midcoast Maine and more
During late April and early May, you can take classes to learn the basics of Quickbooks, how take great photos with your digital camera, navigate Midcoast Maine, or outsmart hip and knee pain. Please register in advance of the class you want.
There are a few spaces left in Taking Great Digital Photos on April 22 and 24, from 6-8 p.m. If you are comfortable with using the settings and functions on your digital camera, or have taken Leisha MacDougall’s basic class, and want to learn more about improving the quality of your photos, then this class is for you. Explore the implications of contrast, lighting and shapes through discussion. Then experiment to take photos indoors, outdoors, or tell a photo story. Learn to see differently; work more creatively. The fee is $25.
In QuickBooks Basics, a four session class, learn to save time and generate valuable reports for your small business. In this course, you’ll learn to set up your chart of accounts, items and classifications; work with your bank accounts; enter sales information and bills. Bring your laptop with QuickBooks loaded. The class is taught by Mary Batakis who is a certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. The dates are April 22, 24, 29 and May 1, from 6-8 p.m. The fee is $40.
Based on the Feldenkrais Method in Outsmarting Hip and Knee Pain on April 25Dianne Danielswill show you somegentle movement sequences to increase flexibility and reduce discomfort in knees and hips. You will be on the floor, so please bring a mat and two towels. The time is 6-7 p.m., and the cost is $8.
A preview of two May U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary boating classes. Navigating Midcoast Maine is a four session introduction to navigation using a chart of the Boothbay area. The dates are May 6, 8, 13 and 15. The fee is $75. Suddenly in Command is a two-evening course on May 7 and 9 that covers essential boating information and what to do in case of an emergency situation. The fee is $40.
