Get happy with Patten Free Library
In celebration of International Day of Happiness on March 20, Patten Free Library in Bath is hosting a Happiness Wall and series of wellness events sponsored by Mid Coast Hospital. The wall will be up from March 19 to March 23 for patrons to discover what makes them happy. You can learn more about International Happiness Day at https://www.dayofhappiness.net/
Join yoga instructors Sue Henshall and Johnna Stanton for a Yoga for Aging class on March 16 at 2 p.m. in the library’s Community Room. This 75-minute session of gentle yoga is designed for people 55 and up, and is a perfect way to stretch and rejuvenate your body. There is a $10 suggested donation and all proceeds will support the library. Preregister at Johnna@ebbandflowyoga.com. Space is limited and it is suggested you bring your own mat and blocks, the instructors will have a limited supply.
On March 23 at 11 a.m. join instructor Amanda Walden for a Laughter Yoga session in the library’s Community Room. Benefits of Laughter Yoga include boosting your immune system, reducing stress, elevating your mood, and feeling socially connected. No flexibility needed and many of the exercises can be done seated. Laughter will make you thirsty – bring a water bottle. There is a $5 suggested donation and all proceeds will support Patten Free Library.
Walden states that “You do not need to have a sense of humor to laugh. You do not need to be happy to laugh. You do not need to have a reason to laugh. All you need is an open mind and the willingness to laugh and play!
