Classic Film Club – Season 8: Stars & Noirs - Lincoln Theater’s Classic Film Club is an annual series celebrating the incredible films of the Golden Age of Hollywood! This year we bring you a cinematic mix-tape of comedies and film noirs. Hosted by film historian Jeannie MacDonald, each film begins with a short pre-film introduction and folks who wish to ask questions or chat about the film are invited to stay after for a post-screening discussion. This year’s slate of fims begins in November with “The Thin Man” (1934), followed by “The Asphalt Jungle” (1950), “Mr. Deeds Goes to Town” (1936), “Mildred Pierce” (1945), “Born Yesterday” (1950), and closing out the series in April with “Out of the Past” (1947). Enrollment, $60 per person, opens on Monday, Sept. 1. As a classic film club member, you receive admission to all six films, a free small popcorn at each film, and a free wine or beer specially selected for that month’s classic at each film (non-alcoholic beverages are also available). Visit LincolnTheater.org to learn more and to enroll on Sept. 1!
Lincoln Theater is turning 150! On January 26, 1876, the formal dedication of Lincoln Hall was held with a grand march and gala event. Thus was born the beloved Lincoln Theater. We want you to help us celebrate by sharing your memories and thoughts about what makes Lincoln Theater special to you! If you have a moment to send us an email or give us a call we would love to hear from you. Please reach out to us at info@lincolntheater.org or (207) 563-3424.
What else are we doing to celebrate? First up - We’re giving the old girl a makeover! This September, we will close for interior work in the lobby and concessions area, as well as restoring the grand staircase, adding cupholders in the auditorium, and more! Then, for the entire 2026 calendar year, we will be celebrating with special events to recognize this incredible milestone. From experiencing the silent film era with live musical accompaniment to gathering for a banquet at Wanderwood in Nobleboro, we are looking forward to a year filled with excitement and shared experiences with you!
