Local reverend preaches on nationally syndicated show
The Rev. Peter B. Panagore, host of “Daily Devotions,” a popular radio and television ministry broadcast throughout the state of Maine and available online at www.dailydevotions.org, is the featured preacher May 12 on “Day 1” with host Peter Wallace, the nationally syndicated ecumenical radio program also accessible online at www.day1.org/.
Raised both Greek Orthodox and Roman Catholic, Panagore was ordained in the United Church of Christ and served Congregational pulpits in Connecticut and Maine for 18 years. He became the fifth minister of First Radio Parish Church of America 10 years ago. An avid writer, he is the author of “Two Minutes for God.”
Panagore is a native of New England and a graduate of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. He earned his master of divinity degree from Yale University.
His sermon, based on John 17:20-26, is entitled “Lover.” “Jesus came to show us that God loves us. Love is the proof enough inside your soul,” Panagore writes in his sermon. “Do you love God? Do you love Jesus Christ? Then you are a lover of God. It is possible to be a lover of God because God is the lover of all, with a love that has no end, and no beginning.”
The program includes interviews with Panagore, conducted by Wallace, who is executive producer.
“Day 1,” has been broadcast every week for 68 years, formerly as “The Protestant Hour.” Featuring outstanding preachers from the mainline denominations, “Day 1” is currently distributed to more than 200 radio stations across America and overseas. The program is produced by the Alliance for Christian Media, based in Atlanta, Ga.
