Rebuilding Together of Lincoln County does almost of of its projects in the Boothbay area. This is mostly due to the fact that all of its volunteers and funding come from that area. When we get an out of area request, our normal process is to offer funding for materials, provided the homeowner can find volunteers to do the work.

One of our board members, Bill Smith, asked his nephew, Jason Abbott of Westport Island, if he could come up with volunteers to do some major work for a Westport resident. Abbott went to his fellow firefighters Paul Bonyun, Bud Mooney and Stan Lane. Together the four men volunteered to do painting and build and replace a bulkhead at the home on May 9.

Our thanks goes out to these men for giving up a day to help a neighbor. Groups like these make it possible to serve and help keep people in their homes.
