After 30 months as interim pastor at First Congregational Church of Wiscasset, David Meyers preached his farewell sermon on Aug. 24.

Rev.  Meyers’ sermon dwelt on the lessons “You (and nine other churches) have taught me.”  He encouraged the members to be moldable like clay in changing times, to be flexible in meeting the needs of the church, and to remember that mission is not to or for others, but with others.  

The choir’s anthem in honor of Rev. Dave was “For Those Who Serve” by Joseph Martin.  

A luncheon was served following the service.
