Learn more about towns’ candidates
All five of Wiscasset's selectboard candidates for three seats, both of Wiscasset's school committee candidates for one seat, and Westport Island's lone selectboard candidate on that town's ballot, took the time to thoughtfully answer Wiscasset Newspaper's questionnnaire. We thank them for that time, and for their willingness to, if elected, take part in night meetings and all the reading, studying, listening and decision-making involved in serving on those bodies.
At wiscassetnewspaper.com and in this week's print edition, the candidates' responses are published. We thank you for any time you take to read them as part of your decision-making for the June 9 elections.
But wait, thanks to Wiscasset Area Chamber of Commerce and Wiscasset Community Center, there's more! As stated in an announcement we ran in our May 7 print edition, WACC and WCC are hosting two candidate forums, both at at 6 p.m. at WCC. If this is still news to you, depending on when you see this, you could still catch the May 13 one scheduled to have both the Wiscasset school committee candidates. But you are still way ahead of the game for seeing the May 26 one scheduled to have all five Wiscasset selectboard candidates.
Best wishes to the towns for strong turnouts June 9 and via absentee voting. And thank you to all towns' staff and appointed election clerks for carrying out one of the most important processes this nation does.
